The Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)
The Mission of the Office of JEDI
The mission of the Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) is to cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment within the Department of Pediatrics that reflects the richness of our patient population, fosters innovation, ensures excellence in patient care, research and education while supporting justice, and promotes inclusion at every level of our department.
Creating an environment where people can learn, share, and grow with each other requires a diverse group with members informed by different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
The PDIC provides a supportive environment for underrepresented in medicine (UIM) residents and serves as a resource for career guidance, with a focus on professional and personal growth.
Through the Office of JEDI the Department of Pediatrics solidifies our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in medical education, research, and patient care.
The Department of Pediatrics has a longstanding commitment to improving the health and well-being of children and families in the Northern Manhattan community.
The JEDI Excellence Award recognizes and celebrates those who have made exceptional contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Department of Pediatrics.
