Conducting inspired research that transforms children's lives.

Research

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to using inspired science and translational research to address the greatest threats facing children in the 21st century, including obesity and malnutrition, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, infectious diseases, genetic disorders, asthma, and prematurity. Our physician-scientists, informed and guided by their clinical experiences, are driven to move their discoveries to application at the bedside.

We are proud to be the recipient of more National Institutes of Health research grants than any other pediatric program in the New York metropolitan area. Our grants portfolio includes more than $21 million in federally sponsored projects, $9 million in other sponsored projects, and over $2 million in industry-sponsored clinical trials & studies.

Our department is committed to a research community that has a positive and supportive learning environment for faculty, staff and trainees with a variety of experiences and perspectives. Read more about our commitment here.
